OSCPA coat drive surpasses goal
February 03, 2022
In December, the OSCPA's virtual coat drive raised $6,327 to purchase new coats for Oklahomans in need.
The OSCPA's $5,000 fundraising goal was surpassed by 54 compassionate donors.
“I am proud of the accounting profession for stepping up and showing such an outpour of support to those in need," OSCPA Board of Directors Chair Sharon Haley, CPA, said. "The OSCPA’s Virtual Coat Drive is a prime example of the dedication Oklahoma CPAs commit to serving our community.”
With the money raised, the OSCPA was able to provide coats for 240 Oklahomans this winter. The coats, ranging from sizes infant to 3XL, were delivered to The Salvation Army in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
“Thanks to the generosity of our members, the OSCPA has ambitiously exceeded its fundraising goal for the second year in a row," OSCPA President and CEO Blaine Peterson, CPA, J.D., said. "We look forward to continuing our partnership with The Salvation Army to aid in its mission of ‘doing the most good’ for our community.”
The OSCPA also partnered with Impact Branding Unlimited to supply the coats distributed at a discounted rate.
Thank you to those who participated in the coat drive and helped us spread warmth this winter season.
