Controller – Oklahoma County Finance Division

Oklahoma County is seeking an experienced Controller to serve as primary accounting authority reporting to the CFO.

• Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
• Lead the annual external audit and safeguard robust internal controls.
• Serve as the County’s tax subject‑matter expert, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and coordinating timely filings, remittances, and issue resolution
• Ensure full compliance with GAAP, GASB, and Oklahoma statutes while guiding policy improvements and fiscal strategy.
• Mentor a skilled accounting team and collaborate with elected officials, auditors, and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10 + years of progressive accounting experience, with 5 + years in a supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in ACFR preparation, audit management, and governmental financial systems.
