Controller – Oklahoma County Finance Division
Oklahoma County is seeking an experienced Controller to serve as primary accounting authority reporting to the CFO.
- Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
- Lead the annual external audit and safeguard robust internal controls.
- Serve as the County’s tax subject‑matter expert, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and coordinating timely filings, remittances, and issue resolution
- Ensure full compliance with GAAP, GASB, and Oklahoma statutes while guiding policy improvements and fiscal strategy.
- Mentor a skilled accounting team and collaborate with elected officials, auditors, and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- 10 + years of progressive accounting experience, with 5 + years in a supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise in ACFR preparation, audit management, and governmental financial systems.
